welcome to coinmate. this privacy policy explains how coinmate ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our iOS application. we are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
by using coinmate, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. if you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our app.
2. information we collect
coinmate collects several types of information to provide and improve our service:
account data
- email address — required for account creation and authentication
- name — optional, provided by you during account setup
- user id — automatically generated unique identifier for your account
financial data
all financial data you create and manage within the app, including:
- wallets — wallet names, balances, types (cash, debit, savings, credit, installment), and initial balances
- transactions — transaction amounts, dates, categories, notes, and associated wallet information
- categories — custom and default category names and settings
- budgets — budget limits, periods, and categories
usage data
- daily engagement streaks — tracking your daily app usage to maintain streak counts
- app preferences — theme settings (light/dark mode), default currency, notification preferences, and other customization options
analytics and diagnostic data
- firebase analytics — anonymous usage events, screen views, and feature interactions
- firebase crashlytics — crash reports including stack traces, device state, and user id (for debugging purposes only)
- device information — device model, operating system version, and app version (collected automatically by firebase)
3. how we use your information
we use the collected information for the following purposes:
- provide core functionality — to enable you to create and manage wallets, track transactions, set budgets, and analyze your financial data
- sync across devices — to synchronize your financial data securely across your devices using cloud storage
- authenticate your account — to verify your identity and secure your account access
- improve the app — to understand how users interact with features, identify bugs, and prioritize improvements
- send notifications — to deliver local notifications based on your preferences (budget alerts, streak reminders, etc.)
- customer support — to respond to your inquiries and provide technical assistance
- detect and prevent issues — to identify crashes, fix bugs, and maintain app stability
4. data storage and security
your data security is our priority. here's how we store and protect your information:
- local storage — financial data is stored locally on your device using swiftdata, apple's native data persistence framework
- cloud sync — data is synced to supabase's cloud infrastructure to enable multi-device access
- encryption in transit — all data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using https/tls protocols
- encryption at rest — data stored on supabase servers is encrypted at rest
- no third-party selling — we never sell your data to third parties
- access controls — your data is protected by authentication and is only accessible by you through your account credentials
while we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. we cannot guarantee absolute security but strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data.
5. third-party services
coinmate integrates with the following third-party services that may collect and process your data:
firebase (google llc)
- firebase authentication — manages email/password authentication
- firebase analytics — collects anonymous usage statistics and app interactions
- firebase crashlytics — collects crash reports and diagnostic data

these services have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them. we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
6. data sharing
we do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- with your consent — when you explicitly authorize us to share specific information
- service providers — with third-party services (firebase, supabase) necessary to operate the app, as described in section 5
- legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation
- protect rights — to protect our rights, privacy, safety, property, or that of our users or the public
- business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you would be notified beforehand)
we do not use your data for advertising purposes and do not share it with advertising networks.
7. your rights
you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
access
you can access all your data directly within the app. you may also request a copy of your data by contacting us.
correction
you can edit your account information, wallets, transactions, categories, and budgets at any time within the app.
deletion
you can delete your account and all associated data from within the app settings. this action is permanent and cannot be undone. upon deletion:
- all your financial data will be removed from our servers
- your account credentials will be deleted
- local data on your device will be erased
- some anonymized analytics data may be retained for statistical purposes
data portability
you can export your financial data from the app. contact us at massalin.issatay@gmail.com if you need assistance with data export in a specific format.
opt-out of analytics
while we do not currently offer an in-app toggle for analytics, you can contact us to opt out of firebase analytics.
notification preferences
you can manage notification settings within the app or through ios system settings.
8. children's privacy
coinmate is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. if you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at massalin.issatay@gmail.com, and we will delete such information from our systems.
9. data retention
we retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. specifically:
- account data and financial data — retained until you delete your account
- crash logs — retained for 90 days for debugging purposes
- analytics data — anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for statistical analysis
when you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
10. changes to this privacy policy
we may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. when we make changes:
- we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this policy
- for material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email
- continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
we encourage you to review this privacy policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
11. international users
coinmate is developed and operated in the republic of kazakhstan. if you are accessing the app from outside kazakhstan, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in kazakhstan or other countries where our service providers operate. by using coinmate, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules.
